Employee-Centric HR
For many of today's workers - particularly those under 40 - the days of staying with the same company for an entire career are long gone. Rampant market consolidation, incessant corporate restructuring and the use of RIFs as a strategy for "making the quarter" have led individual workers to create a "brand of me." These market dynamics, combined with the emergence of social networking and other collaborative technologies, have made it easier than ever for the most highly-skilled and highly-motivated workers to dictate the course and speed of their own career.

To retain these valuable employees, today's HR professionals need to be aware of the new rules-of-the-road and offer a much more holistic, much more employee-centric view of benefits, career planning and compensation. Providing workers with a clear view of their total rewards as an employee, a career path that is both collaborative and transparent, and a review and planning process that is more consistent with the communications trends and technologies that exist outside of the workplace, will ensure that the best workers stay focused, loyal and productive.

This new HCI community is dedicated to addressing the worlds of Total Rewards - from benefits administration and wellness programs to compensation planning and succession strategies - and helping organizations to better serve the needs of their workforce by taking an employee-centric approach to human resources.
