It defines a workforce that is willing and able to contribute to an organization's success; that routinely delivers discretionary effort on the job. And it manifests itself in a range of critical business goals, from consistent brand delivery and product and process excellence to exceptional customer service and a commitment to innovation and growth. A wealth of research and experience shows that organizations that succeed in tapping a reservoir of employee energy, passion, and determination, see superior business performance over time.
Enlightened leaders know that people who give 110% are their organization's best assets. What they don't always realize is that they, and their organizations, have significant power to drive engagement and impact their results in myriad ways.
This track will explore what underlies engagement and how to increase and sustain it at your organization, especially in today's challenging economy. It will draw on global research into engagement, as well as the experiences of eight leading companies that are committed to "closing the engagement gap" and the ways they have made engaging behaviors a core part of their culture. We'll discuss management behaviors, organizational processes and systems necessary to tap potential and sustained engagement. And we'll explore the quantifiable links between engagement employee behaviors, including performance and retention.
