Local and Community Recruiting
The "Help Wanted" sign is often considered a relic of the past; gone the way of the personnel office and faxed resumes. But the fact is, there could be great potential candidates walking past your office or campus right now and insisting that they find out about your open positions through the Internet is both inefficient and ineffective.

The US military and academic institutions have always understood that to recruit effectively, you need to be ?on the ground? with prospective candidates. Yet this concept eludes most corporate recruiting departments. High-volume hiring, workforce planning, and pipeline building, among others, all rely on having a reputable presence in the local community. In the Internet age, however, this fact is often overlooked as part of the recruiting plan. This learning track will focus on new approaches to this historically important area.

Plenty of employers have formal recruiting processes in place for hiring the best and brightest from university. Not as many are hiring on campus at their local community colleges and technical schools- even given labor shortages in many technical fields. And what a missed opportunity: most community college boards are actively looking for corporate partnerships who are interested in developing and employing the local underutilized workforce.

How can your organization partner with community colleges to swim in the local talent pool? Are there any common mistakes to avoid? This webcast will be all about the best and most successful ways to recruit local talent at your local campus.
