The demands on CEO's are rapidly outdistancing the capabilities of any single person. CEO's are turning to senior managers of the enterprise to work interdependently and grow more capable by working together to reach goals not achievable by individual members. Yet leading a team of fellow leaders is unchartered territory for many CEO's.
Senior leadership teams are potent forces for enterprise effectiveness. The top rung executive team charts the strategic direction of an enterprise and galvanizes others' ideas and energy to hold that course. What does it take to lead teams whose members are leaders themselves? CEO's may have learned team leadership along the way in their career. But when top team members are single-minded executives who have achieved success on individual drive rather than collaboration, the resulting silo mentality will not serve them in their new scope of responsibility as a top team.
What is needed to create and sustain top leadership teams who are invested in each others' success, and who learn from each other as they work together to define and realize organizational objectives? This track will focus on how CEO's can create, structure and support their top teams to transform them from a group of individual executives to a superb leadership team.
