| Globally Integrated Enterprises |
 |
 |
To successfully operate in a globally integrated world, enterprises must build a set of core workforce capabilities. While many companies have started to focus their attention on one or two of these areas, few have looked at these as an integrated set of workforce imperatives. All too often these efforts are driven by a particular department or function, rather than involving a unified set of corporate stakeholders that include line operating units as well as supporting functions such as IT, HR, Legal and Corporate Communications. This track will take an in depth look at these capabilities, including:
- Understanding the demographics and capabilities of the workforce
- Predicting the future labor supply and demand
- Increasing the visibility of existing networks, knowledge and capabilities across the organization.
- Enabling individuals to perform work regardless of location
- Facilitating collaboration across traditional organizational boundaries
- Rapidly developing skills and capabilities to meet changing business conditions
- Evaluating employee performance and providing appropriate feedback

Driving efficiency and effectiveness in people - one of the largest assets and costs in a business - is critically important to achieving competitive advantage and to manage the effects of a turbulent global economy. Organizations increasingly realize that an integrated approach to workforce and talent management has a tangible business return on investment. However, the challenge can lie in the basic ability to get the right people with the right skills in the right place at the right time. And there's no question that one of the largest problems that companies face is the need to retain top talent and maximize the performance of increasingly diverse global and multi-generational workforces.
IBM Global Business Services recently announced the first holistic solution in the talent management marketplace, combining world class human capital software, consulting services and information technology to enable enterprises to implement globally integrated workforce and talent management. This webcast will discuss IBM"s approach to talent management and how organizations can become smarter and more integrated in all aspects of managing the human capital lifecycle.
